Bowls in pâte-de-verre
The technique of pâte-de-verre is an ancient method to make objects in glass. Glass beads or particles are melted in a form to create a 3-dimensional object or a plaster mould can be used to make a vessel.
This last technique is used by the artists participating in this group exhibition.
Ria Lap is aiming for an intriguing combination of surface structure, material and form. Her vessels have an organic form, although in essence they remain vessels. The structure of the surface gives them an ancient feeling.
Nature is also the inspiration for Alicia Lomné. She explores the effect of exact color placement and sculptural possibilities that pâte-de-verre technique offers.
Mai Renders’s containers show a fragility by their construction and transparency. The bowls are made in different sizes and contrasting colors and can be combined into a larger composition.
Carl van Hees uses his knowledge of color, patterns, structure and rhythm to create his works. Form, strong coloration and tactile surfaces are of utmost important in his objects.
The exhibition runs from 16/12/2017 until 18/03/2018 and is open on Saturday and Sunday from 14:00-16:00 hours and by appointment: 0494-285894
