The beautiful object
This exhibition shows the work of artists that produce ’beautiful objects’. Most of them are unique pieces, while
others are produced in small series. They all have the capacity to touch the viewer by their beauty.
Aldo Bakker shows his design pieces, that are remarkable for his defiant refusal to be classified by time,
fashion or zeitgeist. They show his desire to solve a practical problem but always originatie from his fascination
for a form.
Babs Haenen’s work is based on the pot form. She constructs intricate works with small pieces of porcelain,
that she combines into impressive sculptural pieces. They contain human forms or refer to color schemes of
expressionistic and abstract paintings.
Barbara Nanning finds her inspiration in nature and shows in this exhibition works from the series ’eternal
spring’ which refers to the blooming at the start of the spring and newer work, based on het well known forms
but with the use of different colored glass rods in combination with alexandrite to give the objects a colorful
look.
Ann Van Hoey constructs her vessels with flawless order and geometric logic. The origami-like incisions that
interrupt the pure form of the circle express her will to reach perfection and contribute to a new purity. In her
latest work, “Earthenware Ferrari’ she applies car coating on her ceramics, which results in spectacular pieces.
The exhibition runs from 26.12.2015 until 27.03.2016 and is open on weekends between 14:00-16:00 hours or
after appointment (++32((0)494285894).
