Ceramics & porcelain of The Netherlands
This group exhibition shows work by artists working with ceramics and porcelain and are located in The Netherlands.
Mieke Blits works during 50 years as a ceramist and her work is defined by an architectural and momumental character, both in geometric and organis forms.
Wouter Dam throws and turns the clay first in a vase-like form and cuts differents parts of the object to create a new piece in which the reference to the vase is still present.He adds pigment to the glazes to obtain vibrant colors so that the object shines in the room.
Babs Haenen's work is based on the pot form. She constructs intricate works with small pieces of porcelain, that she combines into impressive sculptural pieces. they contain human forms or refer to color schemesof expressionistic or abstract paintings.
Liesbeth Kamps builds her containers with layers of clay and uses color to create a specific atmosphere. In her unica, the colors and the forms are joyful, while som of her work is black on which colorful dots are added.
Anita Manshanden's objects are constructed of separate units, that are brought together in a transparant object. These objects can reflect snow crystals. However, they do not imitate nature, but evolve, grow and crystalize.
Maria Ten Kortenaar composes objects in different colors, themes , tones and sizes. She contructs the vessels strating from smaller units and unites them with different backgrounds.
Chinese calligraphy is the inspiration of Yuk-Kan Yeung. The directness and the balanced movement of Chinese calligraphy is added to lyric porcelain objects.
Claire Verkoyen uses bone china to apply her prints, that show intricate landscapes with mythical animals or industrial constructions. She confronts a centuries old technique with new imaging.
The exhibition runs from 11/10/2025 until 18/06/2026 and is open by appointment
