Constructions This exhibition shows work from artists from the Netherlands who work with ceramics make constructions. They all have an own language to express their ideas in work that is constructed from individual parts. Wim Borst’s objects, although showing the different components, incorporate a feeling of monumentality. They are characterized by a great accuracy and are rooted in the Dutch geometrical abstract tradition. He uses the idiom in a non-academic, refreshing way with different colors, materials and themes. Wouter Dam works the clay to open structures. Although the vessel is still recognizable, the open form gives the work a light and volatile feeling. The colors enhance the shape and structure. The objects are minimalist at first glance but the soft curves and sharp edges invite to meditation. Daniel Levi gets his inspiration from architecture in Eastern regions like Yemen and constructs exotic buildings and landscapes in dreamlike compositions. The themes are very recognizable and figurative and each object invites to look at the different details and discover new aspects in his work. Anita Manshanden composes intricate objects from units to different forms with different colors, themes, tones and sizes. Her inspiration comes from nature, but also from society items such as folklore and religion. The exhibition runs from 18.01.2014 until 13.04.2014 and is open on weekends between 14:00-16:00 hours or after appointment (++32((0)494285894).
